Welcome to Summer 2 term 2015

Wow - Summer 2 term has arrived - we cannot believe how fast the year has gone.

Our topic this term was going to be called

‘Way up high in the sky, on the ground and down below the under ground’
We have let the children lead the focus of this topic and we have decided to centre the theme around the rescue services, such as the police helicopter, air ambulance, fire service, RNLI, therefore our topic is now going to be called …

Welcome to Summer 1 term 2015

Our 'I am special topic' was excellent - we enjoyed learning all about our five different senses.  Check out our newsletters to see what we have been doing.

We have had a very busy week back after the holidays.

We have started our new topic 'I am special', the children have been drawing self portraits, taking 'selfies' and find out which month their birthday is in.

Our role play area this half term is a birthday party with a magic show, which was requested by one of the children - great idea.

Welcome to Spring 2 term 2015

The last week of term.

We have enjoyed lots of Easter activities this week.

We had a great day wearing our 'onesies' for Autism Awareness Day.

Happy Easter to you all - Hope the Easter Bunny brings an egg or two!

Spring 2 week 6 newsletter - April_2nd.pdf

We started looking at the Easter story this week.

We linked our local landmark visit to the story by visiting Durham Cathedral to see the stain glass window of the Passover meal.

What an exciting week

We were really lucky to experience the Solar Eclipse this week - It went quite dark and very cold outside.

We visited Souter light house as a local landmark this week.

Happy St. Patricks day!

Week three of our topic.

We used our remote control cars to turn left, right, forward and backwards to find different rooms around school.

We have been planting seeds in the school garden and visited the millennium bridge as our local landmark.

Happy Mothers' Day

Another great week for class 2.

We visited the Angel of the North as our local landmark this week.  The children have been interviewing and taking photographs of members of staff for our prospectus.

Welcome back after the half term holidays.

This half-term our topic is 'In and Around our School'

(Please see the curriculum section for our medium term plan)

This week we have been for a walk around the school grounds, around the local village and walked up penshaw monument to see the views of our local area.  The children have enjoyed taking photographs of key features using the ipad and the camera.
