Spring 1
This half term our theme is Space and we are very excited to learn about it. We will look at three stories- Marshmallows for Martians, Whatever Next and Suzy Orbit, Astronaut. We will also look at non-fiction books about Space and some astronauts. Our art lessons will be linked to Space, learning about an artist called Peter Thorpe who is famous for his rocket paintings. We will create our own versions of his work as well as building junk model rockets and making paper mache planets. In maths, we are looking at making patterns and also learning about length, using the words long and short and measuring things to see how long they are. In our early writing sessions, we are continuing our work in colourful semantics but will be adding cloud words (adjectives) to our sentences. In PE, we are working on listening to instructions, jumping, throwing and running as well as some team games to help us work together. We are also doing some science sessions, creating bottle rockets that will fly into the air. We will describe the actions that we are doing and some of us will predict what we think might happen. IN PSHE we are going to be learning at washing our hands to keep germs away and healthy eating. We will continue our sensory stories and sensology sessions too. Forest Class are going to have LOTS of fun this half term.
