Footstep 3:-They may respond to options and choices with actions or gestures [for example, pointing to or giving one object rather than another]

Footstep 3:-Pupil will explore objects in increasingly complex ways, using more than one action.

Children will be exploring objects through continuous provision. The children will be counting objects during focussed sessions and identifying objects in relation to numbers. The children will be exploring shapes through continuous provision and making things with shapes.

Literacy

(Reading)Footstep 2:-Pupil engages in sustained visual attention to people, events and objects for short periods of time.

(Reading) Footstep 2:- Pupil may knock over an object with intent.

Reading Footstep 2:- Pupil may use a raking or spreading action withpaint or sensory text materials.

Using makaton and visual aids to join in with sensology sessions. Have storys/songs  linked to topic for each week as well as the sensology-

Week 1-The rainbow fish

Week 2-Alice the camel

Week 5:- The little red hen

Week 6:-Maisy went on a plane

Week 7:- Rumble in the Jungle

Footstep 3:-Pupil may use a small number of functional signs.

To continue to use the communication boards during continuous provision.

Begin to use colourful semantics.

Use makaton and speech for  daily songs progressing on communication by encouraging the children to initiate themselves.

Have communication boards around classroom for spontaneous communication. 

Indicating song choice(launchpad for literacy)
