Week 1 Let's Explore Under the Sea
This week we explored under the sea. In sensology this week we had a smell of seaweed, tasted crabsticks, listened to the waves, had a feel of the cold water and seen the fish.
We made a fish, turtle and octopus during the week for our window display.
We searched for under the sea creatures in our continous provision.
Week 2 Let's Explore the Desert
This week the children have enjoyed exploring the desert. They have particularly enjoyed exploring sand that they have covered the classroom with haha!
In sensology this week we used sunglasses to look at the sun, tasted water, listened to the camels, felt the sand and had a smell of the suncream.
In maths our focus was triangles and we have done lots of different work on triangles.
We have been using our colourful semantics to make sentences.
We have also been listening to the song "Alice the Camel had 5 humps" and using our number cards been guessing the next number.
We have enjoyed our PE session with June.
Week 3- Let's Explore the Arctic
This week we have had a big week exploring the arctic.
We had an educational visit to Dalton Le Dale park in preparation for our beach exploring next week.
We took part in an arctic sensology session our favourite was tasting the ice.
We have also been looking at circles and doing big circles and little circles in our art work.
We have made polar bears and penguins for our window display too.
We finished off on Friday celebrating whole school music day by listening to punk music, taking part in charanga and decorating a guitar.
Week 4- Lets Explore the Beach
This week we have been exploring everything to do with the beach. Our favourite has most definitely been tasting the ice-cream in sensology. We have explored sand and water in our continuous provision.
In cookery this week we made pitta pizzas they were delicious!
We have been listening to the story Pete at the beach and using our colourful semantics to make sentences.
We had fun finding beach related items on the discovery park and the adventure playground.
In PE we have continued with our balancing skills.
Week 5-Lets Explore the Farm
This topic we have loved exploring everything related to it.
Our sensology has been lots of fun and we have tasted sweetcorn in a variety of ways.
We have listened to the Little Red Hen story.
We have explored farm animals and helped wash them in the mud.
We have used tractors to mark make in the tuff spot.
We also had a visit to Bill Quay Farm this week.
Week 6- Lets explore in the sky.
