Outdoor explorers

Thornley Woods

We visited Thornley Woods to be woodland explorers and followed the yellow arrows to see the carved creatures on the sculpture trail.

We spotted a carved woodpecker, otter, badger, snake and red kite.

We also found some Cuckoo spit and a little green beetle hiding inside of it.

Observing snails

We used magnifying glasses to observe mini beasts.

We saw worms, woodlice and snails

Edward goes exploring

Edward dreams about animals. He's a scientist, an adventurer, an explorer extraordinaire. Edward knows that the garden is really a jungle, that all sorts of strange things are lurking out there. With his backpack and hard hat, he sets off to find a new animal and give it a name.

We became explorers on the discovery park looking for the animals from our story and marking them on our sheets.
