Summer 2

Hi everyone, it sad that we are going into the final term but what a theme we have.

We are going to explore wonderful that happens under the sea as well as looking at the seaside and summer holidays.

We hope you join us on our wonderful adventures.

In week one we explore different sea creatures such as sharks, dolphins, crabs, fish, octopus and many more wonderful sea animals,

We have read our sensory story Under the sea, as we are reading the story we also explore props, so we have a variety of sea animals for the children to look at.

We are making sea creature biscuits in cookery and look forward to the children exploring all the different textures of the ingredients and maybe even some of the children might be happy to try one.

In maths we are exploring numbers, listening to the song 10 little fish, some of us are beginning to count and match the fish to the numbers.

In music we are playing a variety of instruments and making choices of one we like. We are moving to the beat of the music using our bodies.

We have been on the discovery park in the sand and water to feel the different textures and some of us had to find creatures around the park.

In outdoor learning we have hand out the sand , water, dough, construction and mark making. We have also been trying to draw sea animals with chalk the staff are terrible at this haha.

We have had a busy few weeks in Rainbow Class, We explore Hip Hop music for World Music Day and had a lovely picnic for National Picnic Day.

We've read stories about sea creatures as well as doing some exploring on the Discovery Park and visiting Whitburn Park.

In Cookery we have made sea creature biscuits and brown bear toast with a focus on cutting and spreading.

In Maths we have explored , long and short, full and empty, big and small as well as counting and listening and joining in with number songs and rhymes.

For phonics we have been using our tapping sticks to explore the shapes of letters, listened to some environmental sounds, we tried keeping a steady beat while doing our Charanga music sessions and moved our bodies while doing our sea creature action songs.
